Father undoubtedly is the unsung hero in every child’s life. Father knows feelings of his family fully, experiences it, and feels it, yet, never expresses his emotions spontaneously.
The quality of a father can be seen in the goals, dreams, and aspirations he sets not only for himself but for his family.”
Reed Markham
If mother is the goddess of love and affection, then father is the god of principles and values. In a lighter tone, in modern terminology, mother is the software and father is the hardware components in a child’s upbringing.
Daddy, thanks for being my hero, chauffeur, financial support, listener, life mentor, friend, guardian, and simply being there every time I need a hug.
Agatha Stephanie Lin
Father is indeed a friend in need. He has been often stereotyped to be reserved or strict, he indeed gets friendly when the need arises. He is a tough guy to crack, but carries a soft heart underneath. He influences and inspires in his own subtle, humble way. He thinks through things, makes tough decisions and engages with full responsibility of the family together with mother.
Unconsciously father (& mother) instill values that shape who we become later in life. Father is always around to lean on, learning from his experience is the best solution for any life crisis and the secure feeling of being with him is unbeatable. The bond he forms is priceless and needs to be valued like a treasure.
My father didn’t tell me how to live. He lived and let me watch him do it.
Clarence Budington Kelland
The Celebration
The 3rd Sunday of June has been designated as the father’s day in many parts of the world. It was first celebrated in the year 1972 when US president Mr. Nixon signed a declaration for it. However, the history of celebration of father’s day dates back to 1908, when Sonora Smart Dodd celebrated the day to honor her father.
Fathers are never particular about celebrating their day in any special manner. They find joy in every small moments spent together with family. Hence TIWIW encourages it members to make it memorable for dads throughout the year.
We should look for every window to be with them and make it unforgettable so that they gather enough joy to last until we meet next.
A day picnic
Fathers like to create memories for family. Father is the first man who has taken you to school, college, or for a long vacation on his bike. Plan an impromptu picnic or weekend road trip and surprise them. It would be a much-needed break for him to connect outside of everyday routine environment.
