Father is indeed a friend in need. He has been often stereotyped to be reserved or strict, he indeed gets friendly when the need arises. He is a tough guy to crack, but carries a soft heart underneath. He influences and inspires in his own subtle, humble way. He thinks through things, makes tough decisions and engages with full responsibility of the family together with mother.
Unconsciously father (& mother) instill values that shape who we become later in life. Father is always around to lean on, learning from his experience is the best solution for any life crisis and the secure feeling of being with him is unbeatable. The 3rd Sunday of June has been designated as the father’s day in many parts of the world. It was first celebrated in the year 1972 when US president Mr. Nixon signed a declaration for it. However, the history of celebration of father’s day dates back to 1908, when Sonora Smart Dodd celebrated the day to honor her father.
