We made it! We made it through another holiday season. The family has retreated to their homes, the tinsel is down, and hopefully, you took full advantage of the TIWIW app, so your holiday returns were nil to none. For the first time in many weeks, you may now be experiencing some quiet time where you can take a minute and relax.
Self-care and relaxation are the building blocks to a healthy and rewarding lifestyle. If we are not good to ourselves it is impossible to be good to others. What are some of the things you do for yourself? How do you reward yourself after the stress of the holidays has passed? What are some of the special experiences you have partaken in that have brought you happiness?
We thought we’d share a few of our favorites with you:
1. Guided Meditation
Imagine if you started each of your days in a state of relaxed concentration invoked and led by another party. Whether you have a few minutes or an hour or two, this is an incredible way to achieve emotional and mental health as well as stress relief. You can find many great guided meditations online, or you can download some no-cost apps (with purchasable upgrades available) such as Calm and Headspace.
2. A Great In-Home Meal
For the past several weeks, your refrigerator and ovens have been filled with trays and trays of food to feed the masses – lasagnas, grilled meat & veggies, mashed potatoes, and all the special family traditions that make your circle of people happy. There is a reason that foods are coined comfort foods or a delicacy. These foods provoke a sense of either nostalgia or happiness and may bring you to your happy place. With apps available like Uber Eats, Swiggy and Door Dash you can have all your local favorites delivered to your house anytime you want. That being said, you worked very hard this holiday season, and we believe you may deserve something a little more special.
With the Goldbelly app, you can treat yourself (ok, you can include your friends and family too if you are feeling generous) to any of the best food in the USA in as little as 24 hours! Kansas City Ribs, lobster from Maine, New York pizza, key lime pie from Key West, Florida, or anything you can imagine! If we may suggest a film to watch while you enjoy your meal, Will Smith’s “King Richard,” the Richard Williams story of the grooming of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams available on HBO Max.
3. Self Care
You’ve been running around non-stop. Party hopping, moving gifts and decor, and traveling non-stop all take their toll on you. We feel it’s time for you to take a load off and pamper yourself. Whether it’s filling your diet with detox teas and drinks or 20 minutes for a quick foot massage or keeping a day for long session of Ayurveda massage, it’s time to take care of yourself.
If these don’t float your boat, you may want to reach out to a local service that offers IV Vitamin Therapy. IVF is a safe and effective way to deliver nutrients and vitamins directly to your bloodstream. From full-on vitamin cocktails based on your body’s needs, simple hydration therapy or a B12 shot, these are all effective ways to heal and help protect your body.
We truly hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and are in a good place both mentally and physically. These are some of our favorite things to help ourselves relax when we need a quick check-in with our bodies and minds. We hope you enjoy it as well.
